Angus & Julia Stone at Unibar

Kicking off Spring was the talented Stone siblings on Thursday the 2nd September. They performed to a crowded uni hall full of beautiful people...
fashionably alternative and funkily dressed. The set saw a balanced mix of old and new favourites including Mango Tree, Wasted, Private lawns and a fun cover of a Grease classic.

Each song was expertly executed with warmth, heart and laughter. They are both very talented musicians but for me Julia really stood out, as she worked her magic on the guitar, piano, accordian, trumpet and microphone, all without so much of a ruffled feather. She made quiet small talk with the audience, but Angus remained largely subdued.

Their voices compliment each other like honey and the vibe is irresistibly feel -good. A beautiful Willow tree (or what looked like one) adorned the stage, delicately draped with fairy lights and the final song was celebrated with a shower of gold confetti that fell from the roof. It was a beautiful concert, pitch perfect and serene. They are a much more polished performance now than when i first saw them perform back in 2006.
